Our mission
My Mission
My mission is pretty simple: to share what little guitar knowledge I have with those who can benefit and learn from it via videos and other digital outlets. That’s it. In other words, I’m going to keep on shooting videos, making jam tracks, and whatever else comes to my mind, in hopes that visitors to this site will see some value in it and will use this free service.
I am hoping that by doing that, we can build a community of like-minded musicians who enjoy helping each other and learning new tunes and riffs. It’s a pretty straightforward thing, really! I am not pretending to be splitting the atom, here. I just hope that you’ll find the journey worth it.
I truly believe that most guitar players don’t really want to play faster than Joe Satriani. They just want to pick up their guitar, strum a couple of chords, and jam away. Most guitarists will never play in front of a “real” paying audience. Most of us just want to have a little fun at home or at the local jam session and play some cool tunes. I hope to be able to provide you with some new and simple tunes to play in those settings! And if you ever get to play faster than Satch, and you rock paying audiences like the guitar god you’ve become, I’d appreciate a couple of tickets!
In the words of the great Vince Gill, “it’s what you give away!”
Mojo.
Mojo- just wanted to say that I really appreciate this site and have learned alot from it already. I started checking it out about a month ago and really look forward to coming home, pulling up your site and practicing. I am still learning my chord transitions, so I’m not very good yet, but your site is pretty motivating to learn from. I have wanted to play for over 20 years, just never tried very hard at it. For some reason, I you make it pretty easy to learn. Thanks for sharing this with everyone, I’ll be watching. Happy New Year. -Joe
Hey Mojo,
I wanna tell you you’re one of the best guitar teachers on the web, and probably in the world. I have learned a lot from your website, so thanks for that! Your new spot looks really cool!

Mojo,
During a recent deployment overseas, I decided to pick-up the guitar. Your site has been a really inspiring place for me since I’m in the Navy and don’t currently have access to an instructor. Thanks!
I cannot thank you enough for this comment. You made my day!
hey!! as i’m just starting out on my electric i have found this site amazingly helpful!! i’ve been play acoustic guitar for about 4 to 5 months now and can play that well enough to do basic songs, but i think that learning electric guitar is alot more challenging in a way!! so as i search on Youtube for some videos i stumbled across Three Chord Guitar, which i thought was great considering most of the songs/riffs and chords that you teach is basically 3 chords!! i would like to thank you for your generosity to actually take the time to help others learn music! and i would like to see some stuff on Matt Bellamy (MUSE) and his guitaring techniques……thank you again
Mojo,
I stumbled upon one of your videos while looking for tabs for a song and IF i knew the chords I would have attempted to play along with you on that video. However, that is not the case. On the video you said that if you do not know the chords, or are not comfortable with them, to head over to the site and check them out in text and on video. I can’t find where they are here though. Sorry for the trouble, but could you point me in the right direction. I’m a beginner obviously, and I’ve just learned a two string symphony. It’s as far as I’ve gotten, and I’d like to learn some actual chords now. Thanks a lot.

Mojo,
First I would like to know how I can donate to help
support this site. I am just learning and really
spend a lot of time on threechord.com and each day I
am making progress. I appreciate you and what you are doing to help people like me who have always wanted to play. I especially like the straw hat.
Hi mojo!!
Big fan of yours, great lessons. I really like the song “undone” by Dean Brody. Just thought you could post a lesson for it if you like it too!!
Happy St. Patricks Day!!
Mike Sinclair
I just gotta ask. You have SO many guitars. what do you do for a living so that you can afford them all?
Big fan of yours. Keep up the good work.
Thanks. I run an Information Security company
I found you from youtube couple of days ago and it feels like i`ve been learning more in the last few days than the last 6 months that i have been trying to learn how to play ^^
thx for great videos and hope you wont retire from it anytime soon
Greetings from Finland
Hi Mojo,
I greatly appreciate what you provide to the guitarist wanttobes. I’m a late bloomer in finally picking up the guitar, but now that I have I won’t be putting it down. It took too long to get these hardened finger tips. When I was in Afghanistan a couple of years ago, a few of my fellow troops brought instruments and had the opportunity to play them during numerous functions…I was jealous. I could have been in the spotlight if I had picked it up sooner. I’ve taken one month of lessons and decided to learn all the chords first on my own before going back to him. Now I am taking six lessons, 3 hours a piece in a adult ed. Guitar I class and will follow up with Guitar II this summer. To sum it up, I’m doing everything I can to learn. I love it. Thanks again for your help. Now, I must find an easy Leadbelly song to play.
Hey Mojo, any chance you could work out the break that Jerry Garcia takes on the bluegrass song “Fields have Turned Brown”? It on an album with Dave Grisman. Thanks for your helpful videos and musical ideas.
Thanks for your efforts. I have learned much from your EZ to grasp videos. I’m an old guy who was looking for a hobby. Funny how we return to the things we loved as a kid (music). Your lessons got me over some humps and kept me involved, for that I am grateful.
do you have any jimi hendrix songs to learn easily? maybe three chords?
Hi Mojo
i ´stopped playing for 30 years,but visiting Your site ,i restarted playing
Greetings Jürgen

Hi Mojo,
Just wanted to say a big thank you for your terrific website and videos. I haven’t played for over 20 years, and boght a guitar today.
I particularly want to be able to play Mark Knopfler songs – any chance you can post some more videos of how to do this?
Kindest regards,
-Keith
Hi Mojo,
I recently found your site. “Great Stuff”. I’m a beginner and cant seem to pick up the strum pattern for Wonderful tonight from the Video.
Could you please provide the strum patter.
Thanks,
Joe
Any chance you show a beginner how to do the intro to “Wicked Games” . I play the song with Em D A, too. Could you also do something to show the strum you use, count it out slowly, something like that. I just a year ago heard the song on KPIG on the central coast of Calif.
I agree with your philosphy, most of us won’t ever play before a crowd, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the music that we try to make. Can you show the strumming process for “On the Hunt”?
Keep plugging away and you do good stuff, thanks
Mojo
I contacted you through the forum several months ago reguarding my 10 year old sons playing of your version of “big bill broonzy Hey Hey” I was amazed at the speed of your response and your enthusiasm . Last month he passed his grade 1 exam and as a local recording studio was having an open day we went along to watch. he asked if he could have a go and they fitted him in he played “hotel california” and i think he did a good job of it (of course I am biased) Anyway a big thankyou to you for helping him get started he still spends a lot of time at your site
he is up on youtube search malcolm “Guitar”Swan if you think it would make the cut would you put the link up on the forum
cheers
Steve
I love it! I’ll go check it out
