ThreeChordGuitar.com: how to play Wicked Games (Chris Isaak).
I always loved this song. The strat work on it is stunning. Here, I concentrated on playing the song as an acoustic solo act sort of thing. Three chords, Em, A and D, and I also explain how the strumming works. I hope this helps! BTW, I also recorded a video of the whole song for reference purposes.
ThreeChordGuitar.com: how to play Harvest Moon (Neil Young)
I recorded a version of this song and received several requests for a lesson on how to play it, so here we are. I focused on the verse structure, the chorus and the riff.
I was jamming and messing around and came up with this riff inspired by the classic blues tune “Rollin’ and Tumblin’”, and figured I’d share
That song’s been recorded by 100s of blues artists, and apparently dates back to 1928, but the versions I always think about are the ones by Muddy Waters, Cream and Johnny Winter.
Gear used:
Ron Thorn Junior 90, koa top
Swart AST
Route 66 overdrive and compressor
Grabbed my SRV strat. Plugged her into a Cool Car vibe. Plugged that into a Visual Sound Route 66 – but only used the Comp side. No OD.
Then I plugged *that* into a Swart AST w/ a dash of verb and trem.
Holy cow, wouldn’t you know it, the intro of Feels like Rain (John Hiatt song, covered beautifully by Buddy Guy in case you didn’t know) just showed up under my fingers.
I love how tone can totally bring up a song you had no idea you were about to play!
